On Thursday we had signed ourselves up to go to F.I.T once more but this time to take a class in the only Perfume lab in a University in the U.S. We weren't meeting until 11.30 so had plenty of time in the morning to explore the beautiful city even more.
We had heard from others that there was an incredible magazine store just by Times Square in the Fashion District so we walked there in hope of finding some gems of independent magazines or US ones that I hadn't read. The store, Around the World had a window stacked full of magazines, floor to ceiling and the inside was pretty much the same. We spent around half an hour in there, peering around at magazines from around the world. I settled on buying a copy of the famous Kim Kardashian PAPER magazine.
We then went to Macy's for a brunch of Froyo (frozen yoghurt) at the peculiar time of 10.30am but it was great to enjoy some fresh fruit after all the burgers we had consumed!
We all met at the hotel again to head to F.I.T. Read more about it here.
For all the people who didn't attend the perfume talk, they had got the ferry from Manhattan to Williamsburg or Brooklyn so we joined them once we had finished. We took a yellow cab (with an extremely rude driver) to the ferry port and paid about $4 for a single across the river. Unfortunately it was too windy to stand on the deck of the boat but we enjoyed the views from the inside. When we reached Brooklyn, the views were spectacular. Looking up when walking around Manhattan is amazing, but stepping back and taking a look from further away was beautiful. The new freedom tower was standing tall and the Statue of Liberty was a little dot in the sea too.

Lizzie had heard about a carousel that sit by the river. We walked for about 5 minutes and came across a beautiful park that had a glasshouse sat in it. It's bright colours looked amazing against the grey tall buildings behind it. We all jumped onto a carousel horse and paid our $2 to spin around Jane's Carousel. It was one of the best things I did in New York but I can't pinpoint why.

We then got the Subway to Brooklyn Museum with a slight accidental detour to Wall St oops! The exhibition Killer Heels had previously been shown at Somerset House in London but I never got to see it so was delighted to know it was showing in Brooklyn. Read more about it here!
