What's the big deal w/ monochrome?

Ok, I have a confession…. I'm scared of colour.

If you were a follower of my previous blog, you would know that this hasn't always been the case. In fact, sometimes I went a little over-board, colour and print clashing extremely but it seems that was due to Summer- you can't really escape colour or pattern can you?!

So what's my new-found stigma about it? It's almost as if I woke up in the New Year and could only see in black, white and grey. Monochrome is clean, simple and you know that whatever you put on, will look half-decent and will match. So I'm probably writing all of this to admit to being lazy.

It isn't just me (I promise). Stockholm is notorious for dressing fabulously simple, usually with a lack of colour and I have been in awe of it for a long time, never knowing quite how to approach the laid-back yet fantastically stylish look. If you fancy checking out the look yourself, this is a brilliant blog! So I started with a pair of trainers. Yes, sounds odd, but they've changed my life- for the better! Top of my Christmas list was in fact a pair of B/W New Balance 572's. I do admit, they sat on my bedroom floor for two weeks while I 'ummmed' about them. They were a big big step for me- a usual lover of ankle boots and Dr Martens. However, I wore them once and I was a convert. I now bounce around my day to day doings and am in pure comfort whilst looking quite alright too!

I'm not saying that it doesn't look fab on others, it totally does! And I'm jealous. But a wave of monochrome has certainly crashed into my wardrobe, and the out-wash of colour has began.
