I've always appreciated clothes and have attempted and failed to make my own countless times, so when I attempted (and succeeded!!!) at knitting, I was delighted. Years have passed since I last picked up the needles, and I never learnt to cast on or off, so when I decided to knit a square for my final mood board I had to teach myself. It took me hours and hours but when I had cast on my first row, the achievement was rife. After a sloppy trial at 2am, I started the final knit and after about 45 minutes I had a perfect little square in Blue and White thick wool.
This reminds me why it's great to be a creative student; challenging yourself to make or try something new can be frustrating but the outcome makes you feel a great sense of achievement. It's motivated me even more to create mood board's and an overall portfolio to be proud of.
