Trending Fashion Image: Hiding in the Shadows

Whilst on my daily Pinterest hunt, I came across some beautiful fashion photos using pattern through shadow. As Tim said in a previous lecture, once you start to see a fashion image trend, you can't stop. I looked back through some of my previously pinned Fashion photos and found the trend occurring in some of these too.



Solve Sundsbo is a Fashion photographer who I was already aware of being a key photographer to use shadow patterns in well known publications. This method is easily copied and used successfully and that's why it's repetitively used. Most photos are black and white to emphasise the light and shade. It is a technique that I could use for a fashion photo, but I would just need to work out if it's been over done!



When I woke up this morning the first thing I saw was this beautiful pattern made naturally through the blinds. This demonstrates the ease of the method.
