DON'T STOP NOW: Fashion Photography Next part 1

As mentioned in a previous post, myself and Sophie headed to London in our study week to check out some exhibitions and do some retail research. We met at Oxford Circus where I had found that at London College of Fashion they had a exhibition on fashion photography which I was interested in as you would usually just have a specific fashion photographer exhibition like Guy Bourdin's that I visited last month (read about it here), whereas this was a collective.

The entry of LCF featured three monitors which were playing short made by different fashion photographers. There was no brief for them other to show how they work and I was really ecstatic that one of my favourite fashion photographers Tyrone Lebon was featured.

We then headed up to the exhibition which, although was on the small side, was really fun. By fun I mean the curation of the gallery was interesting- juxtaposing tiny polaroid photos with large ones and layering photos that were hung on the wall which I have never seen before in a gallery. You would think that there's a reason it has never been done before, but it really worked with the choice of photography that fell under the category 'Play'. The usual booklet that goes alongside an exhibition was printed like a newspaper which also gave a different take on the norm.

Overall I would recommend visiting this gallery if you're in the area, but it's too small to go out of your way to visit unless you're going on a day-trip around multiple galleries.
