Marc Jacobs VS ACNE Studios

I'm in the process of collecting imagery for my colour story; neon graveyard. We were told to find a brand or two that this colour palette would work well if it were applied and to collect imagery for this also, to back up our choices. I started my secondary research online as this was a digital task. Pinterest was my first call as I find it's the easiest way to find usable imagery, so I started grouping photos that were relevant to my colour palette such as these:

I then took to WGSN to search these colours and try and relate to a collection or a brand overall. I found that Marc by Marc Jacobs SS15 was relative and continued to collect imagery such as this:

After researching into all aspects of the brand from packaging to typography I just couldn't find sufficient enough imagery to back up the choice of this brand. So I started my research from the beginning again, and this is where I came across the ACNE Studios, a Stockholm based fashion house that's fresh, minimalistic and exciting. I found the research process really interesting as the branding intrigued me and I could collect a lot of relevant imagery. I decided that I could confidently create mood boards for this brand in a way that would work well for my new colour story and the existing brand.

However, I decided that I needed to make a few adjustments to my colour palette to make it suit the brand slightly better. I toned down most of the colours and removed the Raspberry pink. Here's my old versus new:

So using this new colour palette, I did further research and found some amazing imagery that works well with my colour palette.

To find more imagery that's relative to my colour palette, I will look in books and magazines, but for now I'm collecting photos on Pinterest.
