Spotted in NYC: 'The Next Big Thing' Limegreen

When in New York I had to keep a look out for what I believe to be ‘the next big thing’ whether that is a clothes shop, beauty product, technology advancement or even a food chain that’s breaking boundaries. The idea of this brief is to find a brand or concept that’s innovative and excites us so I kept aware in New York as it’s a great city with new emerging brands popping up every week.

When in Chelsea Market Artists & Fleas, I came across a small stand where a lady had a crowd of people surrounding her, listening in awe. The stall read ‘Limegreen’ and to be honest, I could smell it before I saw it. The woman was offering around a lit candle, and the watchers were dipping their fingers in the wax. “That’s odd” I thought to myself, but as she offered me my turn, I did so anyway. She then told us the wax was an essential oil that could be used for massages. This made my eyes light up, as I had never heard of this concept before. She then told us about their other multi purpose products and I was impressed.

When the crowd had gone, I spoke to the employee and told her about the next big thing brief and she said I was welcome to take photos and ask any questions I had. I found out some useful information and have continued to use this brand for my next big thing. When I did some secondary research through their website Brooklynlimegreen.com I was even more happy with my choice of brand due to the brand history and brand values being so ethical.

Here’s my final next big thing report laid out over two A3 pages. I really enjoyed creating this brand report and collecting facts for info-graphics through surveys.
